Kiev Jewish Messianic Congregation is holding a prayer retreat on May 3-8, 2014 for people involved in various ministries. The goal of the retreat is to get away with the Lord, to separate from turmoil of everyday life for fellowship with God and with each other.
Prayer Retreat KJMC
The Congregation stated organizing retreats since 2005. The word «retreat» is taken from English and it means «going away, being sheltered, getting away from society». Usually it is an event held in quite secluded place close to nature, which helps to isolate from the habitual surrounding and get involved into one activity, which is seeking the Lord and His ways. As a military term «retreat» means relocation and rearranging the troops for the reinforcement and preparation for the new attack.
That’s why at the retreats we have both personal and corporate solitude. As to the military aspect of the retreat it really became for many participants the place for the receiving their breakthrough and moving forward.
According to the rabbi of KJMC Boris Grisenko, “the worldwide Messianic movement (according to the biblical prophecies) is the one of the most important movements of God’s restoration of the last days. And KJMC retreats are the one of the platforms where it is represented and where it spread from through everyone who wants to serve God in power and grace of the last times.”
The retreats started as the events held only for the members of the Congregation, but with the time the Holy Spirit broadened the boundaries of these prayer outings. People from other churches of Ukraine started joining us too. And then the retreats of KJMC began international. Please find below their short statistics.
Our January retreat in 2005 was attended by 237 people, but August retreat in 2013 was attended by 1245 people from Australia, Afghanistan, Belarus, the Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, UAE, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, the USA, Ukraine, Sweden, and Estonia. There were ministers from 185 Christian churches.
Retreats are devoted to various topics which are very relevant to all of us – questions of faith, personal relationships with God, peculiarities of New Testament ministry, etc. Practically during every retreat we talk about Jewish Biblical holidays, we consider the essence and the goals of ministry to Israel in the last days, and how to turn our yesterday defeats into today’s victories and tomorrow’s triumph. There are teachings and seminars as well as presentations of various ministries given at the retreats.
Within these years there were different world famous ministers teaching and preaching at our retreats such as Paul Zink, Rick and Betty Strombeck, John Arnott, Rob Parker, Rick Carelli, Rousemary Claussen, Mathew Currivilla, Don Finto, Jim Anderson, Grigoriy Komendant, Mikhail Panochko, Anatoliy Gavrilyuk, Aleksander Epp, Rostislav Shkinder, Petr Oktaba, Andrey Tishchenko, Henry Madava, Sergey Shidlovskiy, Sergey Velbovets, Boris Grisenko, etc.
So, retreat is prayful ascension to the mountain of the Lord; it’s a time of close fellowship[ with God for the hearts that are hungry and thirsty of His presence, it is exodus from vanity and anxiety of everyday life, it is seeking His face and new revelations of the Word of God, it is manifested power of the Holy Spirit, it is Jewish messianic praise and dance, it is worshipping the Father and special intimacy with Him, it a prayer and fast and intercession on various issues, it is fellowship of believers from different cities and countries, churches and congregations.
We are waiting for you! Baruh ha’Shem!
